MEET SARA

Sara Bookspan

MS, BCBA, IBA

I've spent more than 20 years working with children, teens, and young adults with ADHD, autism, executive functioning challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, learning disabilities, and behavioral needs. I'm a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and an International Behavior Analyst (IBA). I provide behavior therapy, parent coaching, and social skills groups, all rooted in evidence-based practice. My background in special education, social work, and art education means I don't look at behavior through just one lens. I look at the whole child, the environment around them, and what will actually help in real life — at home, at school, and in relationships.

A Bay Area native, my work has taken me across the United States and abroad, from running special education and parent coaching programs in East Africa to supporting neurodivergent children in Oregon, South Dakota, Iowa, Maryland, and Florida. Locally, I've partnered with organizations including the Dan Marino Foundation, Jewish Family Services, the Norton Museum of Art, Score at the Top Academy, and Florida Atlantic University. Creativity is part of my work.

Ceramics and other hands-on experiences are woven into the support I provide, including arts-based social skills workshops to help build communication, flexibility, confidence, and problem-solving in a way that feels natural and engaging. Whether I'm providing behavior therapy, executive functioning support, parent coaching, or social-emotional skill building, the goal is always the same: practical, individualized support that feels clear, doable, and grounded in everyday life — not overwhelming, and never one-size-fits-all.
